The Steam “Grand Prix” Summer Sale Has Begun

Written by Jordan Lucero on June 26th, 2019.

Ready your wallets — the annual Steam Summer Sale has begun! This year’s theme is Grand Prix and the sale will run from June 25th to July 9th. As tradition, early shoppers were greeted with plenty of errors, extremely slow checkout, and quite possibly a black screen (maybe a white line if you were lucky).

After the issues cleared up, some great deals were on display, like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey for 50% off. Incredible games like Two Point Hospital, A Hat in Time, and Slime Rancher are on sale for 50% off as well. We’d be here all day if we listed everything on sale, so we recommend you take a look! This year’s discount numbers are around 20-70% off, judging by Steam’s front page.

This year you can “join the race“. Choose from Team Tortoise, Hare, Corgi, Pig, and Cockatiel. Play participating games like Two Point Hospital, Stardew Valley, and Team Fortress 2 to earn points for your team. If you play any game with Steam achievements for 30 minutes you’ll contribute additional points. The more points your team has, the more rewards for you and your team! At the Pit Stop you can spend tokens to redeem profile badges, $5 off any Steam purchase, chat emoticons, and profile backgrounds.

What are you buying this Summer Sale? What do you think of this year’s discounts? Happy shopping!
