Yet another Overwatch free weekend is approaching. If you still haven’t played the blockbuster multiplayer shooter, now’s your chance. From August 23-27, the game will be going free-to-play on PC, PS4, and Xbox One, with all maps and characters included. The only difference between the free version and full game is the absence of competitive mode. Any progress that you make this weekend will carry over if you choose to purchase the full game afterward, so long as you use the same account.
This occasion marks the first free weekend where Wrecking Ball (Hammond) is available, Overwatch’s newest adorable hamster hero. Also, loot boxes currently include summer-themed apparel in celebration of the annual Summer Games. A popular game mode during this event is Lucioball, a sports game with mechanics similar to Rocket League. The free period goes live at 11:00 AM PST and Overwatch must be installed through the Blizzard launcher for PC users.
