Rainbow Six Siege Is Free-to-Play This Weekend

Written by Nate Lakritz on August 16th, 2018.

Rainbow Six Siege veterans can expect to see a massive surge in new players over the weekend, as the game goes free-to-play on all platforms from 8/16 to 8/20. This free version will have absolutely no limitations compared to the full version, meaning all maps, modes, and operators will be unlocked. With the complete Rainbow Six Siege experience up for grabs, there really isn’t any reason not to give it a try.

It should be noted that Rainbow Six Siege is not cross-platform, but both free and paid players will be able to squad up together this weekend. Additionally, the game is currently on sale for 60% off on Steam (through 8/20), Uplay (8/27), Xbox One (8/27), and PS4 (8/25). PS Plus membership is required to participate, but players without Xbox Live Gold will actually gain multiplayer access in this event. Any progression you make while playing for free will carry over if you choose to purchase the game afterward. For anyone remotely interested in Rainbow Six Siege, now’s the time to act quickly!
